Dr. Yunsuk Chae

Dr. Chae received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Spanish from Vanderbilt University. She joined the faculty of Macon State College in 2005. Her teaching experience includes courses in Spanish language, Spanish culture and civilization, and Spanish literature. She has done research in the areas of Baroque peninsular poetry, modern peninsular novel, and contemporary peninsular theater and poetry. Her study on Pedro Salinas’ poetry has focused on the themes of metapoetry and experimental semantics. Her current research project examines humanitarianism and cultural diversity in the poetry of María Paz Moreno. Dr. Chae is also preparing a bilingual anthology with poems selected from five books published by Moreno.
As a board member of the Macon Film Guild, she participates in the research and selection of films that are shown at the historic Douglass Theater in Macon.
