CIT Program
Welcome to the Web site for the Communications and Information Technology Program (CIT) at Macon State College. Home to the only curriculum of its kind in the University System of Georgia, we provide an exceptional foundation in the liberal arts and a solid curriculum in information technology. If you like reading novels and writing newspaper articles, this is the right course of study for you. If you want to become a strong writer we can help. If you want to make and edit films, our courses provide the groundwork and the hands-on experience. If you want to study gender issues and minority literature, we are the experts. If you like small classes and friendly teachers, those are our specialties. Our graduates are in law school and in grad school. Some work as Web designers, some as corporate writers. Our students have done internships at local newspapers and magazines. Others have edited campus publications; others are planning to go into broadcast journalism. Our students and graduates make the materials of the culture. We are the philosophers of the new media. We think students should be voters and citizens. We think students should be involved and informed. We also think college should be fun. What’s our “killer app”? Reading and writing: the oldest academic subjects in history — and still the most important. Join us.
